Baskets - Bloomfield, VT I
am a native Vermonter, having lived in the Northeast Kingdom all of my life. The
women in my family have traditionally been artistic on some level, whether sewing,
weaving, cooking, painting, or gardening to name a few. I find myself wanting
to do it all, or at least making an attempt. I took a basket weaving class from
a local woman about 10 years ago.
Over
the years I have exhibited basketry at art shows and have sold at many craft fairs.
Many of my baskets have been given as gifts, something that will last a lifetime.
I use reed in various sizes and colors to create my baskets. Many of them are
from patterns, although I do design my own. The beauty of a basket, is that no
two are alike; each one is unique. Most of my baskets are traditional and functional,
others are decorative. Each basket has a name, although many are used for something
entirely different ... a laundry basket becomes a wood basket next to a fireplace
or wood stove ... a gathering basket holds magazines next to your favorite chair
... a toy basket holds towels or you favorite pet's toy ... uses are endless.
My name is Linda Lomasney, and I weave baskets. I hope you too, will enjoy
them.
Linda
will be teaching basketmaking class at the Balsams Resort on June 12 but
will send some her baskets down to our Festival for those of you that would like
to buy one on that weekend. On June 13 and 19-20, she'll come herself and demonstrate
her basket making skills at the Lupine Festival. Look for her inside
the Meetinghouse. She has classes all year round, so contact her through her
website to sign up for a class (I took one in April and made a pantry basket -
although I think it is perfect for the garden). She is also planning a class in
Sugar Hill (in June, I believe), when I have details I'll post it on this website
because you might like to come and make a basket, too. She will also be demonstrating
basket making on June 5th either at the Crapo Building or Museum in Sugar Hill
and have baskets on hand - this is a "promo" for the class she is going
to have in Sugar Hill, maybe you'd like to sign up for it. In just 3-4 hours,
you can go home with your own basket! The details are still being worked out but
she will be here on June 5th, Saturday, rain or shine. If you
would like her to make a basket for her, check out her website: Deeda's

Mt.
Crescent Crafts -
Randolph, NH Sara
Glines has been creating hand-crafted wooden figures based on seven generations
of her family's history in northern New Hampshire. Sharing and teaching others
how wonderful her family's history is through art. The figures
represent a moment in time of a real person in the Boothman Sisters’ family. Spanning
seven generations in Northern New Hampshire, personalities of farmers and woodsmen,
builders of hiking trails and mountain huts, hotel proprietors, homemakers, carpenters,
and photographers, are handcrafted for your enjoyment. Currently there are 19
in the collection with more to come as the stories emerge from researching our
family’s history. All figures are limited editions. Only 200 of each personality
will be sold, and each is signed, numbered and comes with “Our Story.” Accessories
are sold separately. Sara will also have Christmas ornaments and
mini quilts for sale at her table. Sara will join us for all 4 days of the Festival
Market and will be inside the Meetinghouse demonstrating
her craft. Stop by and watch as she demonstrates
the creation of these fascinating figures. Sara
is member of NH-made and also has a fascinating website: www.ravinehousestore.com.
If you miss her at the Lupine Festival you can find her at the Cultural Heritage
Festival on June 5th in Berlin, NH and at the Berlin Farmer's Markets on Thursdays
from 3-7 pm, starting July 1st through September 13th.

R
& R Woodworkers - Jackson, NH R&R
Woodworkers was created by Robin Kosstrin & Bob Yanuck in January of 2002. Robin
& Robert are coming over to the Lupine Festival for the first time this year.
They design and handcraft their own Cedar Adirondack Furniture and are continually
improving and expanding their inventory. Besides furniture, they are bringing
a few birdhouses; natural cedar and artistically painted. Come over on Sunday,
June 20th to see them and welcome them to our area. Bob,
a former carpenter/builder, enjoys making furniture with his own personal touch.
Robin uses her organizational skills through networking, marketing, phone contacts,
as well as doing the drilling and sanding. R&R Woodworkers uses northern white
CEDAR in all their products. Northern white cedar is naturally resistant to moisture,
decay, and insects Some customers choose to allow their furniture to weather.
Left natural, cedar will turn a silvery gray patina. Any oil meant to be used
on cedar (usually linseed based) will protect the wood and preserve the color.
Other customers stain or oil their pieces. Please do not use polyurethane or a
water sealer on raw cedar. Our furniture is quite heavy. The Large chair weighs
30 pounds. Our pieces are also available artistically painted. Take
the time to explore their website: www,randrwoodworkers.com,
They will be at the Lupine Festival Market on Sunday, June 20th, only .
. . so don't miss the chance to try some of the “most comfortable wooden furniture"
that is also "Fox approved"! If you miss them at the Lupine Fest, they
have a busy schedule this summer, so you can catch them at: July
3-5: 4th of July Festival - North Conway Village, NH July 17-18: 20th Annual
Craft Fair - Alton, NH August 14-15: 30th Annual Old Home Day Craft Fair -
Alton Bay, NH August 21-22: White Mt Art & Artisan Festival - Jackson,

Crosstown
Motors - Littleton, NH Littleton
Chevrolet -
Littleton, NH This
is something new for us at the Lupine Festival. Crosstown Motors and Littleton
Chevrolet were very generous sponsors of our Lupine Festival Concerts this year.
So I asked Tom Richotte and Ronney Lyster to not only come and enjoy the concerts,
but to bring a few of their vehicles with them so you can see what their local
dealerships have to offer. Please stop by their tent and
thank them for being one of the sponsors of our Festival Concerts. Without their
support, this year, the four concerts might have been cut to only two concerts.
Make them feel welcome. My family has been buying vehicles from them for several
years now (it's true that I purchased my current vehicle from another dealership
but Tom is working on me to think trading it in for a Jeep). A
few years ago, a friend of mine couldn't find the car she wanted and she'd been
searching for a year so I asked Tim (who is Tom & Ronney's current used car
buyer at the auctions) to find just want Linda wanted. Tim found it - Linda liked
the price and e-mail photos; so I drove it to Pennsylvania where Linda was waiting
to drive it back to Ohio (A friend drove Linda to PA and then drove me home to
NH). That vehicle is now in Florida and Linda's actually planning a to come up
this year to enjoy the Lupine Festival for herself so she might finally meet Tim
who found just what she was looking for in a car. As I remember, it didn't take
him very long, either.. Littleton
Chevrolet Buick Pontiac is your local North Country (and Lancaster Chevrolet)
dealer with new and used Chevrolet and Buick cars and trucks. Crosstown Motors
carries Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep. Maybe Tom will bring the Jeep he wants me to
look at, if so check it out for me!

Rogers
Recipe - Glover, Vermont
The
Rogers Recipe was established in 1995 and I think Harman's Cheese has carried
their products from the beginning. They have three delicious kinds of brittle:
peanut, pecan and almond made with Vermont maple syrup. Made in small batches
to insure quality, freshness and taste. They are coming
to the Lupine Festival Market for one day only, Saturday - June 19th. They'll
be inside the Meetinghouse and you won't want to miss the table because
Paulette Rogers will have samples out to taste!! You can contact Paulette by e-mail
if you want more information; but remember Harman's carries all three
of their brittles all year round!

 Sunset
Hill House Sugar
Hill, New Hampshire
Sunset
Hill House has been a fixture of Sugar Hill for over 125 years. Fantastic views,
more history than can be experienced in a weekend, and delicious food. Innkeepers,
Nancy & Lon Henderson, have owned the Inn for 10 years now and have continued
the wonderful tradition of providing visitors with an outstanding stay in Sugar
Hill. This year they are going to come to the Lupine Festival Market and serve
lunch entrees. Nancy sent me an e-mail saying that they would be bringing gourmet
sandwiches and that the chef was muttering about iced seasoned prime rib with
horseradish sauce and caramelized onions….and something about turkey….and something
about grilled vegetables with pesto…. Wow, I think we are in for a treat! Look
for them at the market on Saturday, June 12th, and Saturday & Sunday, June
19-20. . .
. But you don't have to wait for market days. Each day of the Lupine Festival,
they are offering a historic Inn Tour at 1 pm with afternoon tea and cookies and
it's free. Also if you have a Lupine Festival Tour Book, they are giving discounts
in their casual New Hampshire Tavern (or dine on the deck) and also discounts
in their award-winning restaurant. Check out their website for more information:
