The Festival ended today and many lupines are forming their seed pods as they have finished blooming, too. But there are still lupines blooming and a few lupines that are just beginning to bloom. This evening, I walked up to the Fire Pond on Center District Road to take some photos of the variety of blooms that are still out. I met a pair of ducks that must have a nest nearby because they were not happy about being disturbed and kept trying to convince me to leave.

Another perk of taking lupine photos is finding lots of other treasures especially the blackberry blooms to the left above. If all those flowers produce a blackberry it's going to be a great berrying season!

    We still have Lupine Festival Tourbooks available. These books make great souveniors of the Festival and have 19 delicious recipes: Aunt Anna's Blueberry Cake (recipe in book has a mistake but I'll put the correct recipe up on the website this week) to Tomato Mozzarella Shrimp Bruschetta. There's also one more recipe; but it isn't delcious as it is for Lye Soap!

The books are $5.00 and the money supports the Lupine Festival and future Lupine Festivals. All proceeds from the books go to our Chamber of Commerce. We're going to keep selling the books at full price this week and if you buy one, we are going to offer some great discounts at Harman's Store (and Polly's will continue their discount for this week, too).
