Sunset in Franconia Notch with Lupine, Yellow Indian Paintbrushes, . . . and unfortunately, mosquitos! But there was a perk - sweet strawberries in the grass.

I have the loop for you for tomorrow (or Sunday). Start at Polly's for breakfast on Route 117 (and maybe drive up to visit Harman's) so you can see a couple really beautiful fields of lupines on Route 117. Then drive down to Franconia to Dow Field for the Open-Air Market (corner of Route 116 and Academy street (just across from Exit 38). From there, go visit the Franconia Heritage Museum - they are open from 10 am to 4 pm tomorrow. Special hours for the Lupine Festival. Then take Route 142 up to Whitcomb-Lewis Hill Road. You'll drive along just a bit and then you'll see this field of blue (above) and another field further up the road. Take a few pictures and enjoy the view. Then you can stop in at the Farmer's Market at WREN from 10 am - 2 pm, visit the Maple Museum at The Rocks Estate (or just take a hike on the paths) until 4 pm. And just before you reach I-93 you'll see another Lupine Flag flying at The Adair Inn. Drop in for a tour & refreshments from Noon to 4 pm. At 4 pm stick around for a book signing - "Debut". It's a great trip and less than 15 miles around the loop!
