I had great plans to take pictures of the lupines in Franconia Notch State Park yesterday but my timing was the same as the storm. There are lupines there but I just couldn't get a picture. Today's photos are taken on Route 117 as you come from the west (Lisbon) to Sugar Hill.

Just down the road from Harman's (near the Meetinghouse) is a beautiful field of lupines with loads of color. There are alsof lupine that are also just starting to bloom.

I also braved the mosquitos and ticks to visit the fire pond this morning (and there were too many of both). There weren't as many lupines up there as in past years but I'm always fascinated to see the new color combinations that grow. The pink with yellow center is beautiful and the dark, dark purple is much darker than the photo shows.
