I closed the Lupine photo diary early in 2008, so I needed a special photo to be the last one. Here it is . . . a small lupine growing in the heart of Afghanistan, a photo sent to me by a very dear friend.

Lupines can be found in every region of the USA and I'm thrilled to know that friends in Afghanistan have these wonderful flowers, too. Afghanistan is a country that loves flowers and I'm sure my experiences there are part of the reason that I enjoy photographing flowers in my area of the world.
