It seems the flowers just started blooming but already some are producing their seeds as their flower
spikes are past. ... But as you see this plant has one spike with seeds and yet has another
flower spike still preparing to bloom so we'll have the flowers for some days yet.

At 7 am this morning, I shared the fields with other photographers and had to wait my turn to get the "perfect" angle. Here's Roger Robar of Lisbon trying to capture the perfect lupine picture. Early in the morning and late in the afternoon seem to be an ideal time to photograph lupine in our area. Although many of the photographers told me that actually 5:30am is the best time.
